What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are a treatment that involves carefully isolating each of your healthy, adult lashes and using a medical grade adhesive to adhere 1 or more extensions to those lashes throughout the session. Appointments generally take between 2-3 hours to complete, depending on the person and treatment you choose.
Will it harm my natural lashes?
The process, when done properly by a trained lash technician will not damage your lashes. Careful individual application allows for your natural lashes to grow out their life expectancy with no interference. You lose 2-5 lashes per eye everyday! When you see that extension drop attached to a natural lash, you know the job has been complete.
How often do I need to fill them?
There are many factors that affect the life time of the extension once it leaves my studio. Natural lash shed (2-5 lashes per eye, per day), activity levels (are you swimming, sweating, out in the heat all day), your sleeping position (you will likely lose more on one side), and lastly the amount of natural lashes you came in with. Despite all these factors, clients usually are not due for a fill until 3-4 weeks. Don't touch, keep them clean, and come regularly for best results.
How do I care for my lashes?
Lashes do require a certain amount of after care, after your session you will be responsible for caring for your extensions and your eye health! This will require daily lash cleansing, yes you CAN get your lashes wet! At your appointment I will provide you with easy instructions so you can wash you lashes as you wash your face. You must be very careful not to use oil based products (make up, moisturizers, coconut oil etc) on your lashes, this will break down the adhesive. NO mascara. Do not heat your lashes, be careful when you smoke, BBQ, have back yard fires. Brush daily, I'll give you a cute brush to start you off!
